What Kevin Rose is saying is -in our app. there is a question that says ,"are you in any other club?"--Well this is implying that we are a club by using the word OTHER -you are not putting any distance or gap between a club and a society....(as other than this club)....Since we are a Society we should say it differently as to him it sounds misleading ---leave out the word OTHER  and it should be proper grammar or say it as he has suggested-how say you who invented the English language?

as always love  from the USA

I think that the option for members of the SOCIETY to disclose their CLUB affiliations should be left to the individual. In South Africa, RTWR is promoted as a Society THROUGH the club members in the various provinces and their clubs. It doesnt imply that they are abandoning their club roots in favour of RTWR. Indeed, it is wholly important that members STAy in their clubs because that is the link we have with RTWR. If a specific differentiation is made between the SOCIETY and the CLUB, then personal club disclosure is perfectly fine.

on joining this site, their is a section which has said to to now, are you a member of any other club this is kept private.

the word CLUB was loosely used for the benefit of the poor moderators and presidents who's task is to be polite and respectful of all members worldwide.

Club in this instance does not just refer to bike clubs,

it helps us put in contact many members with either shared interests via 'clubs' they are in

ie

fishing

r.a.o.b

golf club

shooting

hiking

kennel

and the list could go on... even bible club

you cannot please all the people ever, we do try...the word 'other' has been removed.

on the uk application form there is a bit that says.

do you have any interests or hobbies besides motorcycles that other members would enjoy?

i thought this straight forward .. that is until i read  the many varied replies...

most seem physically impossible

some downright lethal

others amusing ... but strange

a few normal ones..

sex, booze, and such like in a good few...

well as a result the bit on this site has been changed and the word 'other' taken out.

but i am not changing the one on our form as it constantly has me falling off my chair in laughter..

all the best manda

trying hard ...seemingly getting nowhere fast...

It's all good -not a right or wrong issue yet a implied one -I apologize for upsetting anyone ...I am way behind on my loose verbiage as well - I took out the word 'other' also, after I read Kevin's post .Funny, others here have asked me the same question  as he. I never paid that much attention. Hindsight, says I should have quietly changed the wording here in the USA and been done. Guess we are plagued with word scrutiny in this Country of Law Suits and Contracts . Again,I did not intend to disrupt ...As a matter of fact I am having a club sandwich and have club soda in my toddie as I type and it is only 8:20 a.m.   .With much Love ,Loyalty and Respect  ~Danny
